CHC reintroduces "Thanayama" membership card by Chanuka Mannapperuma The Ceylon Hotels Corporation Chairman, Bodhisiri Ranasinghe, said ,Thanayama membership card was relaunched to afford more facilities to Sri Lankan clientele. The card was earlier limited to four members of a family, but now it is eligible any four members. He said this was sequel to a request by the clients and the card is valid at all CHC hotels and rest houses and with several other facilities. At a media conference, CHC General Manager, Sahinda Wegodapola, said that in the near future they hope to set up a hotel in Jaffna for the benefit of its clients. Peoples Bank and Sampath Bank have agreed to accept bookings for all CHC hotels and rest houses. Chairman Sri Lanka Tourist Board Paddy Withana said, that a sum of 30 million had been allocated to upgrade hotels to the required standards to satisfy both foreign and local tourists. This year over half a million tourists are expected. "Our aim is to provide high class facilities and benefits to our visitors for their monies worth," he said. Secretary to Ministry of Tourism P.Ramanujam said that this year alone the CHC had made a profit of Rs 6 million and as a result it was possible to promote domestic tourism an offer a better service at reasonable. Rates domestic tourists". Meanwhile the CHC has joined hands with Zeelabs (Pvt) Ltd to launch a web Portal. The site will be linked to all hotels in the CHC network and other useful web sites and it will enable online reservations. |
