Indian chemicals company mulls plant in Sri Lanka STC General Trading has joined Indian-based Roffe Construction Chemicals Pvt Ltd to introduce a range of world class construction chemical products to the Sri Lankan market, enabling the customers to have more choice when finding best quality construction chemical products. Accordingly, the STC now imports construction chemicals such as waterproofing compounds, tile additives and joint fillers, additives and special plasters, multi-purpose expansion joints, concrete treatment, special protective coatings, repairs and bonding aids and multi-use flooring in the main construction chemicals range. These facts were revealed during a presentation in Colombo last week by CEO, Roffe Construction Chemicals, Roben Dass in the presence of Chairman, STC General, Yasendra De Silva. Dass told the gathering of architects and construction consultants that they manufacture products that can be used right from the foundation stage of construction till the completion of the building. "Our products are available in a wide range of packing for small and bulk users," he said. Dass said he plans to establish a manufacturing plant in Sri Lanka in the future and added that there is more scope for them to export from the island as it has one of the best ports in the world coupled with free trade zones and the Free Trade Agreement with India. Roffe Construction Chemicals is said to be the leader of this sector in India with a 60 per cent market share. It has 10000 outlets spread across the country with 150 products on offer. The products are now available islandwide and are marketed by Grant Roffe Marketing Company. |
