2000 Certification

Texwood Industries Ltd., a member of the Favourite Group, received ISO 9001: 2000 International Quality Management System Certification from the Sri Lanka Standards Institute recently.

One of the first investors in the Katunayake Export Promotion Zone (KEPZ), Texwood Industries has been in the KEPZ since 1981 and has built a reputation for being a market leader in its main product categories.

The companies and brands that Texwood works with are among the most successful apparel brands in the world Increasingly, they require that their many suppliers around the world install and implement the same kind of systems that they use to run their businesses, commented Mr. Joe Fonseka, Chief Executive Officer of the Texwood Industries at the Award Ceremony held at the Sri Lanka Standard Institute.

The acquisition of a universal quality system such as ISO 9001: 2000 will enhance the competitiveness of Texwood Industries to meet the global challenges, the garment industry as a whole will face in the quota free era after the year 2005
