Talks between the SLFP and JVP is continuing to gather momentum and political analysts believe a joint alliance may become a reality within the next couple of weeks.

This was confirmed by the General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Maithripala Sirisena who said that the Alliance with the JVP will be finalised soon and that it would redress many of the country's woes. Reliable sources confirmed that everything has been finalised for the alliance between the PA and the JVP and it would be signed by end of January 2004. -DPL
