More than Rs. 300,000 was raised for the Hope Cancer Hospital at the special charity cricket match between the Barmy Army and Sri Lankan Vets at the Colombo Cricket Club recently. In addition to the money raised by way of entrance tickets to the match and an auction of signed memorabilia and a raffle, there was a donation of 100 pounds made by individual donors of the Barmy Army.Katy Cooke - the chief co-ordinator hands over the donation of Rs. 348,330 and a cheque of 100 pounds to Senarath Jayawardena - Director of Hope Cancer Hospital, watched by members of the Barmy Army.
