President to invite PM for another round of talks

President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga is expected to invite Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe for another round of talks as early as possible, to set up a joint peace council and carry forward the peace process.

President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga left for Islamabad last night to attend the 12th Summit of the South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (SAARC) and is expected to focus Sri Lanka's attention to strengthen ties among the seven countries to curb regional terrorism, promote economic development and tourism.
