Last rites of Ven. Talalle Dhammaloka Nayaka Thera

The final rites of the Most Ven. Pandit Talalle Dhammaloka Nayaka Thera will take place tomorrow (January 05) at the Vidya College grounds, Mount Lavinia at 3.00 pm. The 86-year-old Nayaka Thera passed away in a Singapore Hospital after a brief illness. He was attending a World Buddhist Bhikku Congress in Indonesia.

The Most Ven. Pandit Talalle Dhammaloka Nayaka Thera was the Chief Incumbent of the Tapodharama temple in Mount Lavinia and had done yeoman service towards spreading and safeguarding Buddhism in a number of countries.

He served as a teacher and had gained a profound knowledge on Sinhala, Pali, Sanskrit and English.
