The Bishop Elect is from Kalamulla, Kalutara and is the second son of Don Anthony Andradi and Dona Anna Madappuli. A member of the Congregation of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, he was ordained a priest on May 10, 1980 at the Ordination ceremony held at the Church of the Infant Jesus, Kalamulla by former Colombo Archbishop, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Nicholas Marcus Fernando.

Fr. Andradi had his early education at the Kalamulla R.C.Boys School and Holy Cross College, Kalutara and in 1968 he joined the OMI Juniorate at Kohuwala, Nugegoda. He did his priestly studies at the National Seminary, Ampitiya, and the Gregorian University, Rome, and passed out with a Licentiate (STL) in Theology.

After serving the Diocese of Anuradhapura for some time he joined the academic staff of the National Seminary and was a member of the Formators' Team of the Oblate Scholasticate. In 1989 he proceeded to Canada to continue his postgraduate studies and obtain his PhD. He rejoined the National Seminary staff on his return in 1995.
