Response from Kilinochchi: 'LTTE will abide by MoU'

The LTTE will continue to abide by the ceasefire as provided for under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) despite Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe's pronouncement concerning the MoU last week, an LTTE spokesman told the 'Sunday Observer'.

LTTE to meet N-E Muslim body

The North East Muslim Peace Assembly (NEMPA) which last week formed zonal peace committees, in co-ordination with the LTTE eastern leaders, to restore communal harmony in five violence-prone Eastern areas, would shortly meet the LTTE hierarchy in Wanni for detailed discussions on resettlement of the nearly 65,000 Muslims expelled from the Northern areas.
