Helping LTTE create a 'Separate State of Eelam'

The Eksath Sinhala Maha Sabhawa join all other progressive forces in unequivocally and firmly condemning the fatuous, deliberate and concerted efforts of the so-called International Community to de-stabilize Sri Lanka by helping the LTTE to create a separate 'State of Eelam' in the North and Eastern Provinces of the country.

The meeting held in 'Killinochchi' on Tuesday January 20 in a so-called 'Peace Secretariat' of the LTTE, attended by several high ranking Diplomats as well as visiting special Emissaries of European Nations and Japan (it is said that America and India boycotted this meeting), to discuss ways and means of disbursing Aid and Funds for the re-settlement, rehabilitation and re-construction of the devastated North and East is a clear indication of the ulterior motives of the 'international Community' to divide this land with the connivance, concurrence and blessings of the GOSL.

Otherwise what was the real necessity to have had a meeting in the LTTE hide-out and discuss with the LTTE hierarchy, rather than with the Authorities in Colombo? Has not the International Community (I-C) already taken for granted the LTTE as a separate entity? If the International Community (I-C) thinks that we Sri Lankans are such fools as to not been able to read through the lines, they are sadly mistaken.

To enlighten the I-C who are deaf, dumb and blind to reality and the truth where the Sri Lanka situation is concerned, I wish to commend to them, for their reading, study, understanding and digestion the letter on page No. 3 of 'The Island' of 20/01 titled "HR violation by the LTTE during two-year ceasefire" addressed to the Foreign Diplomatic Community by Hon. Douglas Devananda, MP, Leader of the EPDP, the very comprehensive article titled "Tigers and Us" by the London-based Association of United Tamils Overseas (Auto) on page 10 and continued on page 15 detailing the gory story of the LTTE brutalities since 1975 (a near three decades), the Front-page story "INA opposes adhoc electoral changes" wherein the Tamils have come out with their chauvinist intentions, and the news item titled "LTTE increases cadres in Colombo" on page 2, all of which appear in the same Newspaper.

The raw-truth of the Sri Lanka story is here bared not by we Sinhalese (if we do so, they - the GOSL and I-C will brand us racists trying to create communal disharmony), but by some right-thinking, educated Tamil intellects themselves.

If the GOSL, the Opposition and the International Community cannot fathom reason and reality from fiction, oh God, what can poor little Sri Lanka do? I now repeat, the authorities of the GOSL, the main Opposition, and the I-C (specially the so-called Donor Agencies, WB, IMF, ADB) please take time to read and absorb the above mentioned 'Articles' which are not only self-explanatory, but speaks volumes for the ground conditions in respect of the now proven 'bogus' claim of the Terrorists.

Let's not forget that the I-C is hell-bent in creating a separate 'State of Eelam' in the North and Eastern Provinces of Sri Lanka, and thus create havoc, mayhem and chaos in this country as they want to effectively and psychologically hit India and China, fearing that these two great Nations would emerge World Super-Powers in the near future. They will leave no stone unturned to ensure that, specially India's dream of becoming a super-power be delayed as much as they can. This is a 'wake-up call' for all.

Ranjit C. Dissanayake, Deputy President, Eksath Sinhala Maha Sabhawa.
