Priyantha de Silva - Caltex Marketer of the Year 2003 Caltex Lubricants Lanka Limited held its inaugural Marketer of the Year awards ceremony, when they recognized and felicitated the outstanding achievers in Sales & Marketing for the year 2003 at a formal gathering at the Taj Samudra Hotel recently. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. Steve Temple, Director Sales & Marketing.Chevron Texaco Global Lubricants - Asia Pacific. The Coveted Trophy for the Marketer of the Year 2003 was won by Mr. Priyantha De Silva, who also won the Outstanding Regional Sales Managers Award, while Anura Dissanayake won the Outstanding Achiever in Commercial & Industrial Sales and Keithmevan Gunasekera walking away with the Outstanding Marketing Executive's Award. The year 2003 was a challenging year for Caltex in many respects. The industry was expanding with competition arriving in the country with new entrants to the retail fuel business with an exclusive channel of their own & their own lubricants. Despite these and many more challenges they had to face, the determined Sales & Marketing team of Caltex Lubricants, with the support from all other units, was able to retain their predominance in the market with a share of over 93% and achieve all the targets they had set for themselves. In recognition of these achievements, all individuals of the Sales & Marketing team were presented with a Sales Excellence medallion. |
