Manoj Peiris's drum expressions

A musical journey into the many traditional drum expressions used is Sri Lankan music is expertly captured on CD by the acknowledged versatile musician Vadya Visharada Manoj Peiris in his latest release 'Sri Lankan Drums.'

This insight into the artistry is an important inclusion in the series on instrumental music commenced by Manoj Peiris. As the introduction reveals the CD Volume 4 contains explanation and rhythms and expressions of the different drums played with expertise by Manoj and used in the low country, the up country and the Sabaragamuwa provinces.

The drums used are the Pahata Rata Beraya, Thammettama, Daula, Udekkiya, Rabana, Hakgediya, the drums used for weddings the Magul Bera and for special occasions like the Kandy Perahera. This ideal CD for any drum enthusiast, was recorded and produced by Torana Music Box.
