Scholarships for studying Hindi in India

The Government of India is offering scholarships to Sri Lankan nationals to study Hindi at the Kendriya Hindi Sansthan (Central Institute of Hindi), Agra, for the academic year 2004-2005.

Applicants should possess basic qualification in Hindi language. Maximum age limit as on 1.8.2004 should be 35 years. The selected candidates will be provided return airfare (economy class), stipend, hostel accommodation at nominal charges and annual book grant.

For further information and for obtaining application forms, please contact the Information Wing of the High Commission of India, 36-38, Galle Road, Colombo 3 (Telephone Nos. 2446892, 2422788-9) on all working days between 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm.

The candidates are required to present themselves for short interviews at the time of depositing their applications. The last date of receiving duly filled-in application forms to the High Commission is February 17, 2004.
