Opatha's star-class Lankan over 40s play England 40 Club on Tuesday Sri Lankan cricket greats of the not too distant past will get the opportunity of matching their strength when the England 40 Club make a short tour of Sri Lanka during which the team is expected to play 13 matches. All matches will be confined to 50 overs per side. The England 40 Club team's tour of Sri Lanka has been organised by former Sri Lanka paceman Tony Opatha who operates a travel firm - Aro Travels of Holland and England. All matches here will also be against over-40 teams. This is the second occasion that this team is coming to Sri Lanka. The team was here five years ago and has been regularly being touring the world. The team has played in South Africa, New Zealand, West Indies, Australia, Malaysia and Japan too and it consists a group of 54 people. England 40 Club has a cricketing playing membership of 4,200 cricket playing members. The England 40 Club will open the tour of Sri Lanka against the NCC over 40 team and the star attraction is expected to be the second game on 10th where the ex-Sri Lankan Internationals are expected to be seen in action at the Moratuwa Stadium. The players invited to form the star-class Sri Lanka International cricket team: Anura Tennakoon, Duleep Mendis, Bandula Warnapura, Tony Opatha, Amal Silva, Lalith Kaluperuma, Hemantha Devapriya, Rumesh Ratnayake, Hemal Mendis, Lantra Fernando and efforts are also being made to get former Sri Lankan captain Michael Tissera, Lal Wickrematunge and Oliver Ranasinghe.
