KESL wants to enrol in Colombo Stock Exchange

by HIRAN H. SENEWIRATNE

Leading accounting and financial software management service provider Kingslake Engineering Systems (Pvt) Ltd (KESL) is endeavouring to get it listed in the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) in the near future.

Currently, KESL with a 40 per cent market share in providing accounting software systems for medium to large companies in the country, was dominating this field, its Managing Director, Dr. S. Dharmavasan, said.

"Most probably we will be one of the first few IT companies to be listed. Our ultimate goal is to get it listed in the CSE", said Dr. Dharmavasan.

He said that the IT sector was fast growing, and heading to a maturity stage and in time to come, more companies would be listed in the CSE.

Dr Dharmavasan said "we want to focus our services, specially on companies dealing in exports to increase its efficiency level."

KESL with a customer base of more than 300 companies, had already provided accounting software solutions for leading companies in the country.

According to Dr. Dharmavasan, some of the big names like MJF Group (Dilmah), Omega Line, Toroid and Richard Peiris were obtaining accounting software solutions from the company. However, KESL would launch its most advanced software accounting package in the near future, he added. "This new package "Sybiz Evolution" is the most advanced version of the current Sybiz system. This system operates under microsoft platform and will increase the efficiency level in the manufacture and industrial sector by 20-30 per cent", he said.

He said that "this system will give tangible benefits within a limited period of two years."

KESL started in 1994 after taking over the Sybiz operations from John Keells Holdings. Last year the company had recorded an overall growth of 50 per cent. The company with a well trained professional staff of 70, is now situated at Millennium House in Colombo.
