Reports from Jaffna said that the nominations for the 12 candidates contesting the Jaffna district from Ruhunu Janatha Party were presented by Channa Sri Mendis on Thursday while nominations for Jathika Hela Urumaya were submitted by Ven. Vithara Nadeniya Medananda Thera on Friday.

Channa Sri Mendis of Ruhunu Janatha Party, after presenting the nominations for his party to the Government Agent Jaffna K.
