Joes restrict Antonians to 212

The two Josephian spinners Rajeewa Weerasinghe (right arm offspin) captured 5 for 47 and Ranesh Perera the leg-spinner claimed 2 for 31 to restrict the St. Anthony's College Katugastota to 212 on the opening day of their inter school cricket match played at Darley Road yesterday. The Antonians bated nearly the whole day (86.3 overs) with some useful contributions from P. D. Withanage (22) J. D. P. Fernando (35), S. Munas (28) and R. Albacket 21)

Joes in reply were 32 for 1 at close. The match will be continued today at 9.30 a.m.
