Nuwara Eliya's hotel with a character : The Heritage

The Heritage - Nuwara Eliya, with the 'tag line 'The Friendliest Hotel in Town' is being readied for the April Season to usher the holiday makers who will flock to 'Little England' to have a delightful and fun-filled holiday.

Nuwara Eliya, a plateau on the hills developed by the early British settlers as Sri Lanka's premier holiday resort, will celebrate the season with grand balls, exhibitions, flower shows, golf tournaments, horse racing, car races and boating events in the Lake Gregory and many more.

In a most picturesque setting in Nuwara Eliya, this 20-room lordly mansion, the country seat of the then British Governor, Henry Gregory, promises its discerning, affluent visitor a personalised service in a warm and hospitable atmosphere. this season,'The Heritage' has planned a series of activities which include a Beer Garden, Mini BBQ outlet, a special 'Kids Corner' with ice cream, soft drinks and snacks etc in its spacious garden as well as a special buffet at the 'Waterfalls' restaurant of the hotel.

The 'Waterfalls' restaurant which is famous for its quality Eastern and Western cuisine, has two separate sections for smokers and non-smokers. Its walls are decorated with beautiful pictures of waterfalls in and around Nuwara Eliya.

The well-stocked 'Black Magic' bar along with the Billiard Room is very popular not only amongst holiday makers, but the planting and business community in the region. The Heritage, now under new management - the Heritage Group of Hotels in Sri Lanka, a company specialised in developing and managing Heritage Hotels, is a subsidiary of The Heritage Lanka (UK) Ltd whose roots are in the hospitality industry.

The Heritage Group of Hotels recently joined hands with Red Apple Travel, India who specialise in inbounds in countries such as Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam and Sri lanka and formed its travel arm, The Red Apple Travel Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. with more muscle to promote their hotels to up-marked clientele from India.

The aim of the Heritage Group of Sri Lanka is to cater to this unique market segment, the discerning clientele with high expectations who prefer to spend their holiday in a heritage property where old world charm and traditions blend with modern side to comfortable living where the service is friendly and personalised.

Breeta's Garden swimming pool in misty mountains

The latest addition to Hotel Breeta's Garden, Ginigathena is a modern swimming pool. This is said to be the first swimming pool in a hotel in the hill country. The uniqueness of this pool is that it is surrounded by misty mountains, and is built on a tea estate on which Breeta's Garden Hotel stands.

While having a dip in the pool, tourists get a splendid view of a range of beautiful waterfalls and misty mountains including the famous Kehelgamuwa mountain, Meeriyagaha Kanda and many more which surround the hotel and the swimming pool.

Hotel Breeta's Garden stands at a most scenic location at Ranjurawa Ginigathena, along the hill terrain's Colombo-Hatton highway spruced by waterfalls. The climate throughout the day is cool but moderate. The hotel has five luxury guest rooms with all modern facilities offered to the discerning traveller.
