As a matter of fact the band with Ronnie Leitch as guest star, rocked the night away until the first streaks of dawn set in. With many years of experience behind them Nalin and the Star Combination are a much sought after outfit playing regularly on Sundays at the Galadari Hotel and on Fridays at the Colombo Swimming Club. The band had a successful New Year's Eve dance at the Galadari Hotel and their wide repertoire of the latest pop, golden oldies, Sinhala pop and baila speaks for their popularity and success. The band now comprises besides Nalin - leader/guitar and vocals, Shirmila Fonseka - vocals, Dilanthi Silva - keyboards, vocals and Hirukshe Fernando - rhythm guitar and vocals. |

Cricket fever is raging high and the band Nalin and the Star
Combination was in the midst of all the excitement when they performed at
the sizzling Stag Nite of St. Peter's College. It was, according to Nalin
Fernando 'a super night with the young and old Peterites crowding on to
the College grounds to express their happiness and to dance to the many
exciting rhythms we played'.
