Rockfest Trinity - Kandy : The hills were alive.... with the sound of metal The hills were set on fire for the first time on the 21st of February when seven phenomenal rock artists expressed their war cry professing that Original Sri Lankan Rock Music is at its height. The first leg of the Rockfest Tour in Kandy was one of the most successful rock shows ever staged in Sri Lanka. Drawing a breath taking an audience of over 800 Rock Fans it was overwhelming to note the enthusiasm and interest of such an intense following for a debut show. Now Rock Company is on high gear ready to charge into Negombo for the second gig of the Rockfest Trinity. The ambience and atmosphere will be spectacular on Saturday the 20th of March @ the Air Port Garden Hotel Seeduwa. Tickets will be priced at 200 Rupees per head and fans in Negombo and Colombo could expect a hell-raising treat when all the big guns re-load for a perfected Metallic assault. Stigmata, Independent Square, Paranoid Earthling, Whirlwind, Ezra, Dylan Jayakody and Stone Broke are gearing up to provide an absolute Rock 'n Roll treat that will rock the audience who will come to witness the Rockfest at Seeduwa. The buzz has begun to spread and the hype is already building for the 20th of March - and EVERYONE is talking about it. The 2nd Leg of the Rock First Tour is bound to exceed expectations and pull multitudes to the Air Port Garden Hotel because it is far enough to be an outing and close enough just to get there. There will be no Rock Saturday show in March, therefore I advise every keen rock fanatic to join the best bands in the island and ride the tide at the Rockfest - Taj Airport Garden. The Grand Finale of the Rockfest Trinity will be held on Saturday the 10th of April at the Boathouse Nuwara Eliya. This event will be the event all Rock fans have been waiting for all these years. Rock Company has planned this event to be the Woodstock of Sri Lanka and will be the biggest happening event this year surpassing expectations of rockers of every genre. More about Rockfest - Woodstock in the next issue. In the meantime keep the day free and make plans to get there because I am sure that you will one day want to say "I was there and was a part of Rockfest Woodstock - Nuwara Eliya! THE LOTUS EATER (A.
