President offers flowers to Sacred Tooth Relic

President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga offered flowers to the Sacred Tooth Relic at the Sri Dalada Maligawa, Kandy at noon yesterday amidst the blessings of thousands of devotees.

After the President had a view of the Sacred Tooth Relic and offered flowers, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse and Ministers of the United People's Freedom Alliance Government also offered flowers.

Diyawadana Nilame Neranjan Wijeyeratne ceremonially welcomed the President, the Prime Minister and the other Ministers and had made arrangements for them to worship the Sacred Tooth Relic amidst the blessings of the Most Venerable Mahanayake Theras of the Asgiriya and Malwatte Chapters and other members of the Mahasangha.

After the President offered flowers to the Sacred Tooth Relic the exposition of the Sacred Tooth Relic was opened to the public from 1.00 pm yesterday.
