Bogawantalawa teas fetch highest price

At this week's Colombo tea auction, "Bridwell" garden mark of Bogawana estate has recorded the highest price for its "BOP " grade, realising Rs.305/ per kg.

Over the years, Bogawantalawa teas have been sought after by connoisseurs as a tea that has a flavour all its own with a colour, aroma and bouquet. Bogawana estate, situated in the heart of Bogawantalawa valley , often called by tea connoisseurs the Golden Valley for Ceylon tea, and is the prized region for supreme quality teas.

Bogawana estate, along with fourteen other estates come under Bogawantalawa Plantations Ltd. which produces 12 million kgs of both high and low grown teas. The company owns its flag-ship brand "Bogawantalawa " and "Ceylon Tea Gardens"
