New Deputy Governor Central Bank Dr. Ranee Jayamaha has been appointed as the new Deputy Governor of Central Bank. The appointment is effective from April 19. Dr. Jayamaha has been in the bank for 32 years with wide experience in the Economic Research Department, Banking Development Department and more recently as Assistant to the Governor in charge of several policy and operational departments. She holds a Special Degree in Money and Banking from the University of Ceylon, Peradeniya, Master's Degree in Economics from the University of Sterling, Scotland UK and Ph.D in Monetary Economics from the University of Bradford, UK. On secondment by the Central Bank she has served as the Secretary to the Presidential Commission on Finance and Banking Advisor to the Financial Sector Reform Committee, Ministry of Finance and Special Advisor (Economics) at the Commonwealth Secretariat, London. During the last two years, she has been the Monetary Board-appointed Director of the Board of Fitch Ratings Lanka Ltd. and Lankaclear Pvt. Ltd. |
