3 Coins launches fine 'Strawberry Pils'

Sri Lanka's beer specialist Three Coins has refreshed its portfolio with another first for the country - a strawberry-flavoured beer that will initially be available at selected outlets.

A response to what the company sees as a growing segment of the market seeking a more enriching beer experience, the new beer '3 Coins Fine Strawberry Pils' is a medium bodied Belgian-style fruit beer with an alcohol content of 6.6% V/V, the company said. This reddish brown beer has a powerful fruit aroma and a long finish with fruit and crystal malt flavour that makes it surprisingly refreshing and dry, Three Coins head of brewing, Janaka Jayasinghe said. Real strawberries are used in the brewing process alongside Pilsen Malt, Perle & Magnum Hops from Germany, Candy Sugar and Hybrid Yeast, he said.

The new beer will be available at several popular locations, Glow, Echelon Pub, SSC, Deli Market, Deli France, Moliy's, Golden Mile, Kandy Pub, the Crescat Food Court, Slam View, Arugam Bay and Odel, initially.
