One year wait for the trophies by the winners of the three motor car events at the Nuwara Eliya Motor Races 2003 organised by the Sri Lanka Motor Cycle Club and the Nuwara Eliya Motor Racing Club ended with the organisers awarding the trophies after the protests which compelled them to with-hold the awarding of the trophies were disposed of.

In the year 2003 there was a protest against the winner of the event for Motor Cars Group 'A' Over 14 Kg/HP for the 'MoFoil Trophy. Sunanda Piyal's Kuliyapitiya Rest House Charade was cleared of any improper declaration and the original result stood. The winners were as follows: 1. Sunanda Piyal (Kuliyapitiya Rest House Charade), 2. Dinesh Senanayake (CS Nissan March), 3. Prasanna de Alwis (Toyota Starlet).

There was a protest against Rohith de Silva the winner of the event for Standard Mini 1000 cc for the C. S. Car Sales trophy. The organisers who went through this protest cleared Rohith de Silva's Petco Mini of all allegations and the found the car to be within the accepted power for this class and there were no illegal modifications. He was restored of his win. The result for this race read as follows:

1. Rohith de Silva (Petco Mini), 2. Sarath Chandra Pathirana (Mini Clubman), 3. Hafiz Cader (Singer Mini Clubman)

The third event for which the trophies were awarded for Motor Cars Group 'A' Nissan March 1000 cc for 'Nissan" Trophy sponsored by the Associated Motorways Limited. The organisers were not satisfied with the declaration made by the winner of this event when they dismantled the vehicle and as such the second placed Tharindu Lokuge was declared winner after upholding of the protest. The amended result of this event is as follows:

1. Tharindu Lokuge (Nissan March), 2. Shantha Suraweera (Nissan March) 3. Dinesh Senanayake (CS Car Sales Nissan March).
