MAETS launches 'Galaxy' on-line system

by Hiran H. Senewiratne

Mackinnons American Express Travels Service (MAETS) a member of the John Keells Group, has launched the "Galaxy" on-line global travel distribution system recently.

This on-line system would be made accessible to travel agents and travel professionals in Sri Lanka, said Regional Director of Sales for Asia Pacific, Galaxy Travel Distributor System (TDS) Paul Blahuta.

He said that Galaxy TDS Ltd provides wholesale-priced hotel rooms and transfers to retail travel agents and other travel professionals worldwide, enabling them to immediately access, book, confirm and settle payments on-line at the best possible rates. Blahuta said that Galaxy TDS would also provide a powerful IT trading platform to bring the suppliers and buyers together to minimise the cost distribution.

In partnership with Sri Lanka, it would be a major driving force for the tourist industry with the prevailing peaceful environment in the country, he said.
