Religious ceremonies at President's House President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga will attend religious ceremonies today and will offer alms to 100 Bhikkus at the President's House, to mark Vesak celebrations. Bhikkus from the Three Nikayas will be present to accept the alms offered by the President. She will also inaugurate a program to enhance opportunities for the development of the rural economy and cultural revival in the country. The day's program will end with a Bhakthi Gee presentation in the evening at the President's House. Her both kidneys are not functioning. She is 57 years old. Doctors have advised to get the haemodialysis (This is a treatment of artificial blood purification like a function of a kidney) thrice a week. But due to financial constraints it is being done now only twice a week. It costs Rs. 6000 for one dialysis. Currently this is being done at Apollo hospital, Colombo.
