Peterite Lahiru Peiris snatches lead again in Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer All Island Peterite Lahiru Peiris, once again snatched the lead from Sakura Wijetunga of Nalanda in the Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year 2004 All-Island Contest after votes were counted on Coupon No. 10. At the 1st count - that's Coupon No. 9, it was Sakura Wijetunga who led in the All-Island Contest with 3,231 votes, with Lahiru Peiris in second place with 3,045 votes. Lahiru Peiris led on Coupon Nos. 7 and 8. However, there was tremendous support for Lahiru Peiris on Coupon No. 10 and he totalled 4,466 votes, that's 1,421 votes. But, Sakura Wijetunga didn't have support to match Peiris. Wijetunga received just 171 votes on Coupon No. 10 and had to drop down to second place with a total of 3,402 votes. Then Dinesh de Silva of D. S. Senanayake College and Amila Sandaruwan of Prince of Wales keep their third and fourth positions, while Naveen Dias of Royal moved up one place from sixth to fifth with 163 votes and Hans Fernando of St. Peter's dropped down one place from fifth to sixth place. In the Outstation Contest, Kosala Kulasekera of Vidyartha leads with 743 votes, but one thing that is quite clear is that voting is very slack with not much interest being shown by readers. Kulasekera has totalled 743 votes. There is, however, a change in the second position with Kasun Bodhisha of St. Servatius, Matara coming into second place displacing Udesh Perera of St. Anne's Kurunegala who occupied second spot on Coupon No. 9. Kasun Bodhisha is presently second with 556 votes and Udesh Perera is third with 329 votes. Coupon No. 12 is the last coupon in the contest and the two coupons appear below. Entries for Coupon No. 11 close on May 12 because of the postal holidays that came along with Vesak. So Coupon No. 12 will close on May 25.
