Launching his first book Capt. Tilak Senanayake an Old Anandian, says that it was his mother Mrs. Senanayake, an English teacher at Ananda who was his 'guru' and who inspired him to be involved in literature and journalism and Tilak grants this credit to his mother on the occasion of his maiden book launch. Having closer rapport with the top brass of all three armed forces Tilak Senanayake joined the army as a volunteer captain when General Hamilton Wanasinghe was the army chief. Along with Gen. Sarath Munasinghe and Brigadier Sanath Karunaratne Captain Tilak Senanayake with his journalistic background played a vital role in structuring the military media. The publisher of the new book is S.
