Top JNU officials at the BCIS Prof. Balveer Arora, Rector and Mr. A.K. Malik, Deputy Finance Controller of the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi are here to officiate the inaugural entrance examinations for direct enrolment of Sri Lankan students for various undergraduate and postgraduate degrees conducted at the JNU. The Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies (BCIS), has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for academic and research collaboration with the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, one of the most prestigious universities in India in March this year. The MoU, while making the BCIS an Entrance Examination centre for direct enrolment also provides for scholarship schemes, exchange of faculty members, exchange of students, joint research activities, participation in seminars & academic meetings, exchange of academic materials and other information, special short-term academic programmes, exchange of administrative managers/co-ordinators and joint cultural programmes. Applications were invited from interested Sri Lankan students by open advertisement in April and the inaugural set of entrance examinations got underway on May 15 and will continue till May 18 at the Auditorium of the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies under the supervision of Prof. Arora and Mr. Malik. Prof. Arora, will also be available for consultations on JNU admissions and on various degrees offered by the university on May 17. Parents and the prospective applicants interested may visit the BCIS, at the new building situated within the BMICH premises (opposite Bandaranaike Museum), between 3.00 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. on May 17 for free consultations. |
