Novices swim meet June 10 to 12

The National Amateur Aquatic Sports Union (NAASU) will hold its first meet - Novices Swimming and Diving Championships from June 10 to 12 at the Sugathadasa Stadium Swimming Pool. The meet will be held from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. each day.

According to NAASU officials, a record number of swimmers and divers are expected to participate at this meet from affiliated schools and clubs. Altogether 52 events will be worked off for both boys and girls in swimming Spring Board one metres, three metres and platform diving will be included for divers.

Entries close with NAASU Office, Reid Avenue, Colombo 7. (Tel. 2682078) on June 4.

Novices water polo

Meanwhile, Novices Water polo Championships for both men and women will be held on May 29 at Otter AC pool starting from 2.00 p.m.

The clubs wishing to participate should contact the Administrative Secretary or Water polo Controller NAASU on or before May 25.

A school or club could enter two teams each for men's and women's championships.
