HETTIARACHCHI ­ MISS INOKA NILANGANI   ­ the eldest daughter of the late Mr Wijayasiri Hettiarachchi & Mrs Rupawathi Hettiarachchi, died under tragic circumstances in Japan on the 11th day of May 2004. KELLAPOTHA ­ K.S.DE S.   Dearly beloved husband of Padma, loving father of Nadira (Germany), Dhanesh (Bangladesh) and Hirantha, father­in­law of Gerhard (Germany) and Shanaz, brother of the late Samson, Nancy, Millie and of Victor and Viola, passed away in Bangladesh. PERERA ­ NALIN   Husband of Seetha, father of Jayathri, son of the late Richard Perera and of Mrs Lalitha Kithulagoda, brother of Ranjila, son­in­law of Mr and Mrs R.K.D.F. Piyadasa of Devinuwara, brother­in­law of Priya Batugahage and Lionel Koralage, expired. SAMBANTHAN ­ JEYARANEE (nee SINGHAM)   (11th July 1919 ­ 24 March 2004). Passed away peacefully at Scarborough General Hospital, in Canada, in her 85th year. She leaves behind her husband Sambanthan (Sam), sister Jeyasothi Thillaimuthu, brother Beeman T. Singham, children Suseela Udayasekaran, Jeyapalan Sambanthan, Lalitha Samuel, Sakunthala Jeyarajah, Kanthakumari Thambiah, Paramagnani Sittampalam, Niranjani Murugananthan, fifteen grandchildren and one great­grand daughter. Blessed with faith, perseverance, a sharp mind and quick wit, Jeyaranee faced and overcame many challenges in her life, fleeing on foot to India, en route to Sri Lanka from Burma, the country of her childhood, because of WWII and joining her children in Canada during the Sri Lankan diaspora. Ranee is remembered lovingly by all whose lives she had touched, during her time here on earth. The Funeral Service was held on Saturday 27th March, 2004, followed by Burial of Ashes on Saturday 3rd April 2004. The family wishes to express their gratitude and thanks to all those who sent messages of condolence and made donations to the Kidney Foundation in lieu of flowers.   

ARUNACHALAM MAHADEVA   (Retired AGA ­ SLAS, Justice of the Peace Commissioner of Oaths, Inquiry Officer of Jaffna University), passed away peacefully on 19­05­04 and was cremated on 21­05­04 at Kanatte.
