Pan Asia Bank opens at Old Moor Street

Continuing with a programme of branch expansion in strategic business location Pan Asia Bank's 18th online branch was declared open by Dammika Perera at No. 314, Old Moor Street.

Managing Director/CEO R. Nadarajah delivering the welcome Address mentioned that the Bank during the first four months of this year had achieved more than what it achieved in the first nine months last year.

This performance was a clear indicator of the direction and development taking place in the Bank whose prime strength was the commitment of its staff to service which will continuously and consciously be nurtured to reach excellence.

The Bank's decision to open this branch in a prime business centre was mainly based on the performance of the last four branches opened during the past six months. Growth from the last four branches already account for over Rs. 600 mn in deposits.

Chief Guest at the opening Dammika Perera said that his greatest joy was the turn around and success of the Bank in recent times, and that he felt a great sense of contentment in observing every progressive step taken by the Bank. He mentioned that "it was often felt that a Bank is an institution that gives an umbrella when the sun shines and takes it back when it rains, Pan Asia was geared to understanding the requirements of their customers and would provide an umbrella in sunshine or rain.

Speaking on the plans for Pan Asia Perera said it was their ambition to take the Bank to greater heights and to be tagged the "Best Bank in Sri Lanka", and while reiterating a commitment to serve the business community requested its support for progress.

Chairman of the Bank Abeyratne Bandara emphasized that the Bank was not looking to exploit its customers. They believed in serving their customers well at a reasonable price and to delight customers so that Bank and customer alike could have mutually beneficial growth.

Commenting on the opening, Deputy CEO of Pan Asia Bradley Emerson mentioned that the prudent management and control of resources has helped not only to turn around the Bank in a very short time, but has also helped to offer its valued customers the benefits of cost reductions. The Manager of the new branch is Teddy Sebastianpillai, a senior Banker counting over 15 years experience in the banking business.
