VSNL launch out in Sri Lanka VSNL Lanka Limited(VLL), launched its telecom and data services in Sri Lanka seeking to meet the growing international telecommunication needs of local companies. The company last week announced that it has commenced the carriage of incoming and outgoing calls to and from Sri Lanka. It has also forayed into the Sri Lankan data market with the launch of its Tata Indicom International Private Leased Circuits (IPLCs). The company is a fully owned subsidiary of TATA-managed, Videsh Sanchar Nigam (VSNL) in India, which is a leading telecom and internet player in India. The company also unveiled its brand 'Tata Indicom' in the Sri Lankan market under which it would be offering its services. Managing Director of VSNL and Chairman VLL S.K. Gupta told a press briefing that Tata indicom customers in Sri Lanka can be assured of the highest levels of performance, service and support. VLL has signed interconect agreements with Sri Lanka Telecom, Suntel, MTN(Dialog), Lanka Bell and Celtell Lanka. It has already commenced carrying international voice traffic(incoming and outgoing) of Suntel, MTN, Lanka Bell and Celtell Lanka.
