Qatar Airways and Air Canada joins hands Qatar Airways and Air Canada have re-enforced their cooperation, by offering enhanced services, more choice of flights and flexibility for clients travelling between Sri Lanka and Canada. The new agreement will also improve the access for Sri Lankans in Canada, being the single largest Sri Lankan Community living overseas. With Qatar Airways' twice daily frequencies to and from Colombo, the cooperation with Air Canada will facilitate passengers to fly to and from Canada via Qatar Airways', European hubs such as London, Frankfurt, Munich, Paris, Milan, Rome, Manchester and from July onwards also via Zurich. Air Canada will offer passengers more flexibility and faster connections. With a view to accommodate peak summer travel demand, Air Canada will launch double daily non-stop flights from Montreal to London and Frankfurt, and also re-introduce twice daily non-stop flights to Paris. As transiting via London or Zurich does not require transit visas for Sri Lankan passport holders, it will be convenient for passengers to travel between Colombo and Canada. Travellers can earn air miles on both Qatar Airways and Air Canada's Frequent Flyer Programmes, both tied up with the Star Alliance "Miles and More" Frequent Flyer Programme. Additionally all passengers travelling from Colombo on Qatar Airways & Air Canada to Canada will be able to use the recently introduced "Telephone Check-in", which allows passengers to check-in over the phone by calling Qatar Airways town office, reducing check-in times at the airport to only 1 hour (business class). and 1.30 h. (economy class) prior to departure. |
