Making waves her style

Then....

Dalreen, a stunning green eyed, black haired, five feet five inches of dynamite carries not only a superb singing voice, but a winning stage personality as well..." the Hong Kong Standard described her when Dalreen jetted into that country for a show which turned out to be an overwhelming success. In Sri Lanka on Sunday June 27 at the BMICH Dalreen Suby in collaboration with D. R. Entertainments presents "Life of Song - Then and Now." The concert is a celebration of her career and will see Dalreen on stage with singers who were associated with her in the past years. A lot of surprises await you at this concert which should not be missed.

A singer, composer, TV personality, recording artiste, a TV presenter/producer, horticulturist, housewife and mother you wonder how she fits her many facets into a working day. "I enjoy being on the move and work keeps me on the go. But singing is what I enjoy most and it has a magnetic attraction to me, it will always be my first love. I am an early riser even after a late, late night. I'm up at 6.00 a.m. everyday and often I go with only four hours sleep. I have a school going daughter which drills me further in being an early riser" the smiling, versatile and renowned singer, once said when she was quizzed, about her scintillating music career.

Now....

The band that will give the thrust to all the excitement at 'Life of Song - Then and Now' will be the leading band of today the Gypsies. "I selected the Gypsies as I admire their originality, professionalism and most of all their dedication to music. Keyboardist Cumar Pieris will be handling all the arrangements" informs Dalreen.

In her early days besides singing, modelling was another facet to her lifestyle. She has modelled for leading cosmetic houses in Sri Lanka, jewellery and fashion houses in India which opened the doors for front cover page features for the magazines 'Debonair', 'Beautiful' Femina in India.

For the first time after a hiatus, leading names in the show biz scene, come together to celebrate Dalreen's long and successful career... names like Maxi, Mignonne, Donald, Damien, Noeline, Janapriya, Sohan, Sunil, Antoinette, Mariazelle. Deva and Malik who will be handling an acoustic section, Trevin and quite naturally Debbie and Thahani.

The compere for the occasion will be Clifford Richard and the show is sponsored by Singer always associated with music. Donation to the Prithipura Infant Homes. The print media sponsors are Sunday Observer, Daily News and Sarasaviya. The show will 'Take your breath away!"
