Pakistan PM resigns

Pakistan Prime Minister Zafarullah Jamali resigned from his office Saturday and his successor will be announced later in the evening, Information Minister Sheikh Rashid told AFP.

Rashid said president of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, "may be" elected as the next prime minister.

Needs help for kidney transplant

M.M. Rinoos, 26 year of age of No.22, Parussella Road, Yatiyantota is suffering from chronic renal failure. Doctors treating him have recommended a kidney transplant immediately to save his life. He needs an "O positive" or "A positive" kidney and anyone willing to donate a kidney is requested to contact him on Tel. No. 036-2266145.

The transplant operation will cost around Rupees 800,000 and he requests philanthropists and general public to contribute whatever financial contributions to be sent to A/C number 1-023128-1 at Bank of Ceylon, Yatiyantota branch.

Financial assistance needed

Public support is sought to save the life of three and half-years-old M. B. Supemi who is suffering from a acute heart disease. She has been diagnosed by Dr. Aruna Kapuruge, cardiologist, Sri Jayawardenapura Hospital as having a hole in the heart. He had advised her to undergo immediate heart surgery.

Hospital charges for this operation will cost Rs. 280,000. Her parents cannot meet the cost. Therefore public assistance is sought to save the life of this child. Please make your contribution to bank account No. 1-034768-7 at Bank of Ceylon Haputale branch.

Young boy needs help

25-year-old Sithira Weeratunga of No. 99/3, Siddamulla, Piliyandala is suffering from Leukaemia since November 2003, and Dr. Mahendra Perera (Consultant in Clinical Oncology and Radiotherapy Surgeon) has recommended, Borne Marrow Transplant at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Australia. The estimated cost of surgery alone is nearly 48 lakhs.

His parents request assistance from the general public to save their son's life.

Heart patient seeks assistance

A.P. Siriyawathie, Kalugaltenna, Gammaduwa, Matale is suffering from a severe heart disease. She has been advised to undergo an early heart surgery by Dr. Aruna Kapuruge, Consultant Cardio-thoracic surgeon Sri Jayawardenapura General Hospital. The cost of disposables and drugs is Rs. 120,000.

This amount should be paid to the hospital as the date of Admission. To cover the cost of the medicines after operation, the patient needs approximately Rs. 240,000. The patient has sought the assistance from the President's Fund to meet the part of the cost.

Since she hails from a very poor family she seeks assistance from the public to save her life. Contributions could be sent to A/c on 1-025460-4 Bank of Ceylon Rattota Branch.
