Under the exchange of interns programme, the BCIS would host two interns from SAIS during the summer break to work on research projects assigned by the BCIS or on their own projects. Similarly the BCIS would nominate two student interns from BCIS and/or from affiliated academic Institutions to work at SAIS. BCIS and SAIS have also agreed to host fellows who could engage in short-term research projects. The agreement also provides for organizing conferences and workshops on topics of mutual interest, alternating the role of host between the two institutions. The agreement was signed by Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar as the Chairman of the BCIS and Dr. Jessica Einhorn, Dean, School of Advanced Studies (SAIS) during the Minister's visit to Washington. This is the second such agreement reached by the BCIS with World renowned institutions within a period of six months.
