Malaysian Crown Prince pleased with atmosphere

by Ananda Kannangara

Malaysian Crown Prince Faizvidden Jamalullail on Saturday highlighted that the peaceful atmosphere, currently prevailing in the country would benefit the government to focus more attention on future development programs.

The Crown Prince made these observations at the Western Province Governor's office when he paid a courtesy call on Governor Alavi Mowlana. The Prince also recalled five of his earlier unofficial visits to Sri Lanka and highly praised the country's present development progress.

Governor Mowlana recalled his recent visit to Malaysia and said that the Sri Lanka- Malaysia Friendship Association has strengthened the co-operation further between Muslim communities of both countries. "We are also happy that a large number of Sinhalese, Muslims, Tamils and members of other communities are presently employed in Malaysia," he added.

Deputy Speaker Geethanjana Gunawardana, Sri Lankan Ambassador in Iran Omar Kameel, Colombo Deputy Mayor Asath Sally were also present.
