Son of the late Mr and Mrs Danny Fernando of Kollupitiya, beloved husband of Mallika, father of Ananda, Savithrie and Anil (all of UK), father­in­law of Nutan and Yolande, brother of Bertram (Rtd. GM, CEB), Terence (UK) Felicia, Shiela, Donald, Shirley, Dr Upali (Hong Kong), Shirani, brother­in­law of Seetha, Connie, the late Dr Prem Weerakoon (Kandy), M.L. Fernando (Rtd Director of Commerce), Yasmin, Anula, Kokilani and Dr Sunanda Jayaratne (Croydon, UK), expired on the 12th August in Dartford, England. His final obsequies were performed on the 17th August at the Eltham Crematorium in Kent. FERNANDO ­ RUBY   Beloved wife of the late D. Jason Fernando, loving mother of Indrani, Jayaindra, Morgan, Mervyn, Kumar and Amodanie, mother­in­law of M P de Silva, Devika, the late Jayanthi, Swarna, Lakshmi and Chitta, grandmother of Chinthika, Deepa, Sajit, Manju, Amalee, Ravin, Priyan, Jason, Archana, Ashan, Anishka and Shawn, expired on 5th September 2004. JAYASINGHE nee GOONATILEKA ­ GWENDOLINE CHRISTOBLE   (86 yrs). Beloved wife of Arthur, loving mother & mother­in­law of Lakshmi & Lakshman Waniganayake, adored grandma of Lasith & Lakna, passed away peacefully on 30th August’04 in Sydney, Australia. Cremation took place on 1st Sept’04. Any memorial donations should be towards the needy!

The funeral took place at Harrow Weald Cemetery, preceded by a Service at St. James’ Church, Alperton on Friday 6th August 2004.

Uvais, father of Noorul Sharmila, father­in­law of Reza Sameen, grandfather of Shazra, Safraaz, Ruzna and Haaziq, brother of Mumtaz, Badri, Nazni and Niloufer, brother­in­law of Sithy Mufakira, late Ummu Shafeeka, M.
