Budget promise : 

Boost to new ventures

The maiden budget of the UPFA government to be presented in Parliament in early November will be development oriented providing more incentives to local industrialists to embark on new ventures and enhance on existing ventures, Deputy Finance Minister, Ranjith Siyambalapitiya told the 'Sunday Observer" yesterday.

Laugfs price hike unreasonable - Minister

Trade, Commerce and Consumer Affairs Minister Jeyaraj Fernandopulle proposes the Government should provide Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) gas to one more company breaking the monopoly of the Laugfs Gas Company in order to provide gas at a reasonable price.
