Hutchison Telecom develops outstation services Hutchison Telecommunications Lanka (Pvt)Limited, recently celebrated the 4th Anniversary of Rankatha GSM service in the outstations. In 2000, Rankatha GSM service was launched in Matara and Hutchison has demonstrated its commitment to the outstation population with over 40 branches established across the country. Rankatha GSM service is now available in over 600 outstation towns and villages. Company CEO Thirukumar Nadarasa who participated in the anniversary celebrations in Matara thanked the subscribers who have made Rankatha successful and popular. He stressed upon the mission of Rankatha GSM is to deliver affordable and accessible telephony services to the outstations. A new communication program will be launched shortly stressing the point ofA&Reaching you wherever you live. Hutchisons network in the outstation has been specially designed with additional accessories to be able to deliver instant telephony services to people living in as far as 30 KM from our towers. Rankatha has made a big difference to the quality of life and life styles of the outstation people because for the first time they can be in direct contact with their loved ones anywhere in Sri Lanka or overseas from their own homes. Apart from domestic subscribers, Rankatha GSM service has also had a tremendous impact on the small and medium size business entrepreneurs operating in the outstations.
