Champika blames evangelists

Jathika Hela Urumaya (JHU) stalwart Patalie Champika Ranawaka denies his removal from the party, and claims intra-party turmoil due to a national and international conspiracy of the 'Evangelical Movement' as the cause for the present situation.

Champika Ranawaka told the Sunday Observer that due to a notion that the JHU has evolved into a stagnant and dormant party, the membership had decided to re-organise the party and appoint Kotapola Amarakeerthi Thera as the General Secretary of the party during the 'interim' period of a few weeks, on a temporary basis.

"I have not resigned from the JHU, and will not resign in the future too. Nobody has asked me to resign. I will remain in the party as long as the party lasts. My resignation is a total fabrication", he asserted. (RM)
