DIMO introduces a new breed of Crysler vehicles by Elmo Leonard Diesel and Motor Engineering Company Ltd (Dimo) recently launched a new breed of Chrysler vehicles. Now, Dimo is distributor for Daimler-Chrysler, which has roots deeply embedded in the American railroad industry. At the new DIMO Chrysler showroom at No 385 R A De Mel Mawatha (Duplication Road) opposite Gabo Travels, Colombo 3. five vehicles from Chrysler and Jeep stables are on offer. the Chrysler Grand Voyager, a "family mover" wagon. The Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Wrangler offer exceptional off-road refinement and superb conventional motoring within the familiar SUV concept and the Chrysler PT Cruiser, a retro design passenger car with "big" features. DIMO Chairman, Ranjith Pandithage, told the media at its launch, that Chrysler is one of America's top, and best-known marques in the auto world. Its product portfolio includes the Dodge and Jeep ranges of vehicles. THE CHRYSLER HERITAGE With a rich heritage in transportation, Chrysler has roots deeply embedded in the American railroad industry. As the motor car came into being in the early 1900s, Walter P. Chrysler embarked on a quest to manufacture some of America's most trusted and loved automobiles, unique in design and streets ahead in technology. Gracefully deep swept, rounded wheel guards and arches, a powerful grille, aerodynamic bonnet, chrome push button door handles, bullet shaped tail lights and an elegant, sloping tailgate bring back the romance of motoring in a world far removed from the present. Yet the PC Cruiser is no slouch - it comes with a 2 litre, four cylinder engine with the option of manual or automatic transmission.
