Partnerships designed to progress

SAP, claimed to be a world leader in business software solutions hopes to establish partnerships with organisations that are involved in healthcare, higher education, airports, sea ports and defence.

President and Managing Director, Indian Sub continent Alan Sedghi who was on a short visit to Sri Lanka said at present we have established partnerships with companies such as JKH, Hemas, Eagle Insurance to further their business success by using our software.

Expressing his views on the ICT market he said that it is picking up which is evident by the reasonable growth in the business sector. "Therefore we are upbeat about Sri Lanka and India," he said.

Sedghi said: "we have had a successful year, but we want to increase growth." SAP has appointed a director specifically focussing on Sri Lanka. "This shows how important Sri Lanka is for us. We have made a substantial investment in the country and will not hesitate to invest in the future," he added.

He said that this is the second consecutive year we had the SAP summit. It is country specific and is a venue to exchange ideas and share experiences with the business community. "Following the summit we have micro events which are industry specific.

These events assist the clients as well as us to clear problems and understand the needs better," he said. At present we have provided solutions for sectors such as apparel footwear, textiles, consumer products, banking and financial services, retail as well as hospitality.

"Our support infrastructure is very comprehensive and it is our hallmark. We provide active global support 24 hours a day 365 days of the year while on site support too is available," Sedghi said.

Established in 1972 and headquartered in Germany the dollar eight bln company employs 9000 people around the globe. The company invests about one billion Euro for research and development every year. It has operations in 110 countries and has over 25,000 customers.
