Nilwala Harasara winds up today

President Chandrika Kumaratunga will address the nation this evening at a public rally due to be held at the Sanath Jayasuriya Grounds, Matara marking the conclusion of the `Nilwala Harasara President felicitations'. The President's speech will be telecast live by the SLRC and a simulcast by the SLBC.

"Nilwala Harasara" felicitations, which began on December 5 to hail President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga on the completion of 10 years in office will conclude today. The ceremonies were organised by the `Nilwala Foundation' guided by Matara district MP, Ports, Civil Aviation and Media Minister Mangala Samaraweera.

The felicitations commenced with a Gangarohana Pooja on a floating deck in the river Nilwala with the participation of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse.

Ten persons who brought respect to Matara will also be felicitated with `Ruhunu Prathibha Awards' by the President.
