4D 'Cinamatrix' at Millennium Park

by Rohan Mathes

Millennium Development (Pvt) Ltd launched its 4D 'Cinamatrix' simulation thriller ride and the Magical Snow entertainment events on Friday 10, to celebrate a magical and white Christmas during the yuletide season.

The Excel World Manager, Marketing/Sales, Sidath Karunaratne, at a press conference Friday, said that the 'Magical Snow' entertainment events would be held until January 9, in view of the school holidays, at the newly renovated 'Dome', a novel multi-purpose event centre, one of the main attractions at Excel World.

The entertainment activities cater to the entire family. The avalanche of snow will provide an ideal backdrop for the innovative games and competitions lined up for both young and old, including prizes to be awarded to the winners. There would be three shows from Monday to Thursday commencing 6.30 p.m. and four from Friday to Sunday commencing 6.00 p.m.

The 'Cinamatrix' to be screened in the mall area of Excel World comprises 3D movies which would be shown on a wide screen. "The 'Multi- Motion' seats with 'Fourth Dimension' effects will offer an experience of a lifetime. Cinamatrix rides could be experienced by all age groups, open to the public from 10 a.m. to 11.30 p.m. "The state-of-the-art entertainment facility is a first to this part of the sub-continent.

This project was the brainchild of Excel Global Holdings Group Chairman/Managing Director Francis Chokatte who does not hesitate in investing on state-of-the-art facilities and technology to maintain high standards", Excel World Director/CEO Ravi Wijenathan said.

The other entertainment activities would include 'Strikes', the 12 lane glow in the dark cosmic bowling alley, Ground Zero, Play Stations, Game Cubes and Lazer Runner, the lazer tag game in which combatants don fibre optic battle jackets and fire lazer through laze-guns at targets on the battle jackets and at opponents battle stations.

The renovated Keg Pub and Restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere for relaxation, inclusive of 'Dart Board' and wide screen. Special events are on the cards to celebrate Magical Christmas at the stage area in the food court. The newly renovated mall area would offer a complete range of shops and stalls.
