Vaas smashes 134 in Colts 374; BRC 125/3 by Lal Gunesekera Sri Lanka's left-arm seamer Chaminda Vaas hit what could turn out to be a match winning a century as Colts went on to make 374 in their first innings on the second day of their Premier League cricket final at the SSC grounds, Maitland Place yesterday. BRC in reply, were 125 for 3 when rain put an end to the day's proceedings. BRC's two medium-pacers Priyankara Silva and Chamara Zoysa together with spinner Sajeewa Weerakoon claimed three wickets each. BRC's Manoj Mendis batted very well to make a fine 73 with 12 boundaries, while Sanjeewa Silva was unbeaten on 25 when stumps were drawn.
