Bartercard Lanka vies to be globe's best

Bartercard Lanka Ltd (BLL) relaunched its operations here last week with the promise of making this destination the most profitable and best trade exchange in the Bartercard family worldwide. BLL began operations here in 1977 as the first country to be issued with an international license.

Bartercard, which started in Australia in 1991 is claimed to be the world's largest and fastest trade exchange.

BLL is a BOI joint venture with Bartercard Australia and is positioned to assist small and medium timers to develop and increase sales to maximise profits using barter business without extra cash resources. BLL's Chairman Khavan Perera said that Bartercard facilitates the exchange of goods and services within the barter network locally and internationally using credit lines granted to members at the time of joining.

Bartarcard is a proven business tool used worldwide that help business establishments to save cash and increase profitability.

Bartercard Australia, is head-officed in Brisbane with offices in 17 countries in Australia, the Middle East, Asia, Europe, USA and Canada and has a portfolio of 1000,000 businesses. Fully effective online trading which includes an on-going auction is also available to members.

BLL has a membership of over 1000 members. New businesses from all parts of the world that join the system regularly contribute to the business opportunities for the members. Bartercard International's Managing Director, Andrew Federowsky said that Sri Lanka's small entrepreneurs are offered the opportunity to be become global business enterprises that provides access to goods and services from a range of businesses both local and overseas on a cashless basis, using a unit of exchange locally, called a Trade Rupee with par value.

BLL's CEO and Managing Director Ifthikar Azia, has been an active member since inception. He was offered this position because of his enthusiasm in the trade. "Already our efforts are beginning to bear fruit in our endeavour to be the best exchange," he said.
