Business in brief NIIT Asia's Top IT Trainer Business intelligence major, International Data Corporation (IDC) has named NIIT as the largest Asia-based IT training provider. This makes NIIT the only IT trainer from the region to make it to the Top IT trainers listing in the world in the 'Worldwide IT Training providers listing for 2003' instituted by IDC, USA. Other global IT training leaders in the list include Cisco, Dell, IBM, Microsoft, Oracle SAP and Sun. The IDC study reviews the revenue performance of the world's largest IT training companies as well as their approaches to growing their respective client bases. NIIT's inclusion is based on its growth in the calendar 2003, deriving global system-wide revenues of USD 111 million from IT training. RIL receives ISO Readywear Industries Limited (RIL), a manufacturer of garments was awarded the ISO 9001-2000 Quality Management System Certification recently by SLSI. RIL was the recipient of the ISO 9002-1994 system accreditation in 2003 too, and within a short period of one year, was able to obtain the new version of ISO 9001-2000 certification. This achievement was possible due to the commitment of the employees. Ms. Shantha Chrysostom, the Chairperson of RIL emphasized in her speech that ISO accreditation had helped immensely in reducing duplication of work and streamlining working procedures. |
